Food Safety National Standard Integration Interim Work Conference Held in Beijing

To summarize standard integration work of 2014, deploy and implement 2015 missions, the “food safety national standard integration” interim work conference was held in Beijing. The food safety standards, risk surveillance and assessment department of National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) directed the meeting and assigned CFSA to hold the meeting. CFSA deputy director general Mr. Zhiqiang Zhang hosted the meeting, NHFPC Food Department director Mr. Zhi Su, CFSA Director General Mr. Jinfeng Liu, CFSA associate director general Mr. Zhutian Wang and other more than 140 representatives attended this meeting.

CFSA director general Mr. Jinfeng Liu indicated that CFSA, as a key undertaking institution for food safety national standard integration task, would provide services, technical support and promote communication. CFSA and NHFPC Food Department will cooperate and enhance the leadership for the integration task, make clear person-to-person assignments and responsibilities. Each task undertaking institution should have good cooperation and communication with other institutions, pay close attention to every step of work progress and address concerns and problems timely. He also required CFSA to serve as a good example for the integration task.

Secretariat made classification based on production and production and operation standards, food product standards, inspection methods and standards, food additives food standards and food related standards. It also organized discussion over techniques, problems and difficulties of different task-undertaking institutions.

The food safety standard integration task will change the current overlapping, complex and contradictory standard situation, effectively adapt to and satisfy the needs of food safety inspection and production, ensure healthy development of the food industry, and promote public safety and public health.
